Help Shape the Future of Our Community
Grand Isles is more than a neighborhood. It’s a community shaped by the people who choose to take part in it.
We are entering a period of meaningful transition, with new energy on the Board and a focus on modernizing how the community operates and plans for the future.
At this time, the Board of Directors is seeking to fill one open seat. This is an appointed position that will serve through the upcoming election cycle in November, at which point the seat will be subject to the standard election process.
This isn’t about filling a role quickly. It’s about starting thoughtful conversations with residents who care about the community and may be interested in contributing.
What Does the Board Do?
The Board of Directors helps guide the overall direction of the community while supporting its day-to-day health and long-term success.
This includes:
- Setting community standards and policies
- Overseeing financial planning and long-term investments
- Supporting and evaluating vendors and property management
- Enhancing communication and community engagement
- Planning for the ongoing care and improvement of shared spaces
At its core, the Board works to maintain and strengthen the quality of life in Grand Isles, balancing immediate needs with a thoughtful view of the future.
Who We’re Looking For
We’re looking for residents who:
- Care about the community and the people in it
- Bring thoughtful judgment and a collaborative mindset
- Are open to listening, learning, and contributing
- Have an interest in helping shape how the community evolves
Experience
You do not need prior board experience to serve.
There’s no expectation to know everything. What matters most is a willingness to engage, learn, and contribute thoughtfully over time.
The Board operates with a culture grounded in collaboration, respect, and shared responsibility. Strong members tend to be those who listen well, communicate clearly, and approach decisions with both openness and care for the broader community.
To support new members, the Board has developed a structured onboarding experience designed to provide a clear, practical understanding of how the community operates and how decisions are made.
Helpful Skills & Perspectives
While not required, a range of experiences can be helpful, including:
- Finance, budgeting, or accounting
- Legal or compliance experience
- Project management or operations
- Procurement
- Communications, marketing, or community engagement
- Construction, landscaping, or property management
- Technology, systems, or process improvement
A mix of perspectives leads to stronger decisions, and every Board member brings something different to the table.
Time Commitment
Board service is designed to be a manageable and flexible way to contribute to the community.
Typical involvement includes:
- Monthly Board meetings
- Occasional communication between meetings
- Periodic calls or additional meetings when needed
- Reviewing materials such as proposals or updates
There may also be meetings or calls during the business day, depending on timing and priorities.
The work is shared across the Board, and participation flexes depending on schedules and availability.
There’s no expectation to know everything. Just a willingness to engage and contribute.
Why Serve on the Board?
Serving on the Board is both a contribution and a personal opportunity.
For the community:
- Help shape decisions that affect daily life
- Support the long-term care and value of the neighborhood
- Strengthen the sense of connection among residents
For you:
- Build leadership and decision-making experience
- Connect with neighbors in a meaningful way
- Gain insight into governance, budgeting, and operations
- Apply your skills in a way that has a visible, local impact
Many members find this to be one of the most rewarding ways to be involved.
Looking Ahead

If you’ve ever considered becoming more involved, or if someone comes to mind who would be a strong addition to the Board, we encourage you to start the conversation.
Strong communities are built by people who choose to step forward.
