Parking Survey — Part 1: What We Heard

By in with 0 Comments

Grand Isles Neighbors,

Thank you to everyone who took the time to participate in our recent community parking survey. The feedback provides a helpful snapshot of how residents experience parking today.

Our goal in sharing this information is simple: to reflect what we heard — clearly and transparently — without proposing solutions at this stage.

Key Takeaways

While individual responses varied, several consistent themes emerged:

  • Parking availability remains a concern for many residents, particularly during evenings and peak times.
  • Guest parking was frequently mentioned, especially during gatherings and overnight visits.
  • Consistency in enforcement drew differing perspectives on how rules should be applied.
  • Fairness across households was a recurring priority.
  • Different household needs — including multi-vehicle homes, visitors, and work vehicles — were widely acknowledged.

What This Means

Parking affects residents in different ways, and there is no single experience shared by everyone. That diversity of perspective is important and will inform how the Board approaches next steps.

This communication is intended to share themes only. No decisions or proposed changes are being introduced at this time.

In the coming weeks, we will follow up with a small number of clarifying questions to better understand priorities and tradeoffs before discussing potential paths forward.

Thank you again for your engagement and for contributing to a thoughtful, community-driven process.

Note:  “Survey Submits” reflect individual submissions collected through the community’s text and email notification systems. Because contact information is not uniformly tied to one response per household, percentages based on total homes may not accurately represent participation at the household level.
